Sama Tours arrange tours and excursions, specially designed
to help visitors explore and experience the best to Zanzibar.
These tours can be selected from a wide range of choice; taken separately
or combined to give broader picture.
Stone Town Tour (3 to 4 hours)
The 19th century Arab-style Stone Town contains
many of the islands palaces and other historical buildings, and our tour
includes all the highlights, including the House of Wonders, the Sultans
Palaces, the Fort, the museum, the site of the of the former slave market,
Living stone House, where the famous explorer stayed before starting his
expeditions into the African interior, and the Central Market where the
cosmopolitan blend of Zanzibar culture can be experienced at its most vivid.
Spice Tours (5 hrs)
Guaranteed to awaken your sense, we’ll go beyond stone
town to the wish and fragrant plantations in the heart of Zanzibar Island.
The history of Zanzibar would be incomplete without the opportunity to
pick, smell and savour fruits and spices which you have probably never seen on
the supermarket shelf.
Cloves, Cocoa, Coffee, Cinnamon, Elephant leaf, Grapefruit,
Cardamom, Nutmeg,, Jack fruit, Breadfruit, Pineapple and many more.
We also see local “lipstick tree” Shampoo tree and the quinine
tree which provided the cure for malaria. During
the tour we will enjoy a special lunch where many local fruits and spices are
served with the unique lemon-grass tea.
Marine Tour (all days)
We journey by traditional boat to discover the smaller
islands offshore from Zanzibar island, enjoying the peace of the Indian Ocean
and the emptiness of the deep blur skies overhead.
Lunch and refreshments are served on board by our crew members.
Island Tour (All day)
We travel by small boat to the nearby Prison Island, the
site of a jail originally built to punish wayward slaves.
Today, this beautiful island is laden with scented frangipani trees and
inhabited by giant tortoises. We
enjoy sunbathing on the quiet beach, swimming and snorkeling).
Lunch is included.) On the way Zanzibar Town skyline at sunset- perfect
for photographs.
East Coast Excursion (Full day)
We spend the whole day on the famous East Coast of Zanzibar
island. We can explore the coral
reefs (snorkeling equipment is available for hire), visit local fishing
villages, or simply relax on fine white sands under classic tropical palms.
On the way to the coast we stop to Jozani Forest Reserve to watch the
rare Red Colobus Monkeys. (Lunch on
the beach included.)
Dolphin Tours
We drive to the southern
point of the island where Kizimkazi fishing village is home to several schools
of bottle and nosed dolphin which can often be sighted followed a short boat
trip from the village if you’re lucky, you may be able to swim quite close to
the dolphins which can be a very rewarding experience.
Kizimkazi is also the site of a 12th century mosque the
earlier evidence of Islam in East Africa.
Jozani Forest
Jozani natural forest reserve is
to the rare Red Colobus Monkey which is endemic to Zanzibar.
This monkeys are full of character & roam freely.
They can also be seen at very close quarters just outside the reserve’s
perimeter and are incredibly photogenic and Jozani is home to other species
including Tyke's Monkey’s , small buck & Bush-pigs Jozani has a an
excellent natural trail.
Coconut Tour (Two days) :
This is a special tour, offered
only by Sama Tours, giving visitors an opportunity to learn more about the
production of coconuts, one of Zanzibar’s most important crops.
We visit seeding nurseries and plantations of mature palms, and meet the
local farmers who tend these trees, with a chance to talk with them and see the
tools of their work. We also see
how coconuts are harvested, de-husked, and dried.
We spend the night at the Village of Nungwi, where we relax on the beach
and enjoy a local meal. The second
day we spend in a local Village, meeting the people and learning how coconut
husks are used to thatch houses or make items such as rope and bags. We also learn about Zanzibari cooking ,and can help prepare
our own lunch, using coconut and other local ingredients. There are plenty of opportunities for photographs.
North Coast.
We drive to the unspoiled north
coast always end up at Ras Nungwi a sleepy fishing Village on the North tip of
Zanzibar Island you will be able to see the traditional methods of dhow
construction in a action, There are some fantastic beaches and nearby coral
reefs which are ideal for diving and snorkeling.
The local Village have built a turtle sanctuary where injured turtles and
other marine animals are a nursed back to health before being released back in
to the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.
Stone Town ….By Night.
We start from your hotel 6.00 P.M
to Africa House
(the former British Club).
After which we will take a stroll through Stone Town, Visiting several
sites of interest.
Culture Tour.
Come and enjoy a wonderful day
with excellent care and hospitality. You will visit our local house meet and greet local people,
you will have opportunity to see our local bed which is important during the
birth and death. Get study how we
cook, make fishing traps, local kerosin lamp, cooking port by clay, local bed,
plating hair, hena painting, Zanzibar Furniture, Visiting Qur-an School, build
local house and many more. |
